Forestry

The beginnings of the forestry activity date from 1964, when the first 14.826 acres were purchased in Paysandu with the purpose of planting Pine trees and Eucalyptus. In following years adjoining fields were added, with the acquisition of 14.085 acres in Durazno and 11.861 in Paysandu, in 1992. Nowadays the forestry, industrial and livestock activities are developed in a total of 44.478 acres, employing more than 300 direct or indirect collaborators. Between the years 2010 and 2011, 1.361 acres of eucalyptus were reforested in the southern part of Piedras Coloradas. Good handling techniques are developed and certified by the FSC® in 100% of the woods.
