Forestal Caja Bancaria is an investment by Uruguayan Banking Pension Fund, a social security institution created on May 14, 1925.
Forestry activity started in 1964 when the first 6,000 hectares were purchased in Paysandú to plant pinus and eucalyptus trees.
More adjacent fields were added over the following years and in 1992 the institution purchased 5,700 hectares in Durazno and 4,800 hectares in Paysandú.
At present forestry, industrial and cattle raising activities are carried out in a total of 18,000 hectares (44,500 acres), thus providing work to over 300 employees.
New Industrial Facilities

With a USD 2.7 million investment, the project includes civil work and additional facilities, new sawmill machinery, further expansion of drying chambers, purchase of mobile machinery and improvement of the area of influence.
